2. Enhanced Telemetry (Beta Program Requirement)

⚠️ CRITICAL: Required Telemetry for Beta Participation

By joining the beta program, you agree to FULL telemetry collection for the duration of your participation. This is essential for identifying bugs, measuring performance, and validating product decisions.

2.1 Beta Telemetry Includes

In addition to standard FULL telemetry (see Privacy Policy Section 3), we collect:

  • AI Client Environment Details:
    • AI client name and version (e.g., "Claude Code CLI v1.2.3")
    • Operating system and version
    • MCP protocol version
  • Detailed Feature Usage Patterns:
    • Which features you use and how often
    • Feature interaction sequences
    • Time spent in different features
  • Performance Metrics:
    • Response times for all operations
    • Memory usage patterns
    • Database query performance
    • Network latency (for cloud sync)
  • Error and Diagnostic Data:
    • Full error stack traces (sanitized to remove your content)
    • Crash reports with system state
    • Debug logs (content excluded)
  • Beta-Specific Metrics:
    • New feature adoption rates
    • Feature abandonment points
    • Workflow patterns

2.2 What We Still Do NOT Collect

Even as a beta tester, we NEVER collect:

  • Your source code or file contents
  • Your AI conversation content (prompts and responses)
  • Your context data (the actual content in your .md files)
  • File names, project names, or directory structures
  • Any personally identifiable information within your work

2.3 After Beta Period

When the beta program ends, your telemetry setting will automatically revert to BASIC (or you can choose NONE). You'll receive an email notification before this transition.

Beta Data Retention After Program Ends

We want to be transparent about what happens to the data collected during your beta participation:

  • Individual-level beta telemetry data will be retained for 90 days after the program ends
  • After 90 days, all individual data will be aggregated and anonymized using K-anonymity (K≥5)
  • You can request earlier deletion by contacting [email protected]
  • Aggregated data (from which you cannot be identified) may be retained indefinitely for product improvement and commercial purposes

Note: This 90-day retention period allows us to complete final analysis and improvements based on beta feedback while respecting your privacy after participation ends.

3. Beta Tester Responsibilities

3.1 Minimum Participation Requirements

To remain in good standing as a beta tester, we ask that you:

  • Bug Reports: Report critical bugs within 48 hours of discovery
  • Feature Testing: Test new features when released (if applicable to your workflow)

No Pressure: We understand you have other priorities. If you can't meet these expectations in a given month, just let us know - no penalties.
